Wiper Motor: Service and Repair

NOTE: On air bag equipped vehicles, refer to Air Bags and Seat Belts as needed. 

1. Vehicles with audio coded antitheft system refer to, Accessories and Optional Equipment / Radio.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Remove wiper arms by lifting covers and removing attaching nuts.
4. Remove rubber grommets from spindles.
5. Remove four bulkhead panel bolts from underneath hood.
6. Remove bulkhead for access to wiper motor.
7. Disconnect wiper motor electrical connectors.
8. Remove spindle nuts.
9. Remove four securing bolts for wiper motor bracket.

10. Push down and pull forward lefthand wiper pushrod.
11. Remove wiper motor with bracket and linkage. To ease removal, hold electrical connectors under wiper motor bracket as wiper motor is removed.
12. Remove bracket and linkage from wiper motor.
13. Reverse procedure to install.
