CAMPAIGN INSTRUCTIONS
Customer Satisfaction Campaign 448: Replacement of bushing for belt tensioner
Background
The belt tensioner may move slightly due to engine vibration, which can cause the hole in the aluminium bushing in the belt tensioner's upper mount to
become out-of-round. This leads to increased stress on the upper fastening screw, which can break, with the consequence that the belt jumps off the
pulleys. The solution is to replace the bushing with a steel bushing.
Cars affected
Saab 9000 M1994-97 with 4-cylinder engine within VIN Serial number ranges: R1000001-V1021491
Owner Notification
As much as possible, owners of affected vehicles will be notified by Saab Cars USA. Inc. All cars in your inventory must be rectified prior to retail
deliveries.
A VIN Status List will be supplied to you prior to any owner notification. Owners known to Saab will be identified on this list. If you do not receive a
Status List, this is an indication that no affected vehicles have been sold to/by your dealership.
Please check your DCS On-Line Recall/Campaign inquiry to check for open campaigns.
