Ground Distribution
Grounding Points
GENERAL
Grounding points on the car are of two main types: those with a component number and those where a component is grounded directly to the
chassis, such as temperature sensors and oil pressure sensors, etc.
The car battery is grounded by means of two cables. One has a cross-section area of 25 mm and goes straight to grounding point G25 (on the
gearbox).
The other has a cross-section area of 16 mm and goes to grounding point G2 adjacent to the battery on the LH wheel housing.
A lead runs from grounding point G2 to distribution terminal 158 (negative) in the fuse box behind the glove box.
For radio interference suppression a ground connection (braided strap) is provided between the engine mounting and the body.
This part deals with the grounding points that have a component number.
NOTE: Since different market versions are produced, some of the grounding points described here may not be present on all cars.
