Fuel Injector: Service and Repair

 
WARNING:

Work only in a well-ventilated area. If approved equipment for the extraction of fuel vapor is available, be sure to sue it.
Wear protective gloves. Prolonged contact with fuel can cause skin irritation or dermatitis.
Keep a class BE fire extinguisher near at hand. Be mindful of the danger of sparks caused by short circuits and when connecting and disconnecting leads,
etc. on electrical equipment.
No smoking anywhere in the vicinity.

To Remove

1. Remove the fuel-injection rail retaining bolts.
2. Carefully lift up the fuel-injection rail complete with injectors.

Have some paper or the like handy to absorb and mop up the fuel which runs out of the fuel rail and/ or injectors.

3. Remove the two retaining rails and unplug the connectors from the injectors.
4. Remove the clips securing the injectors to the fuel rail and withdraw the injectors.

To Fit 
Fit in reverse order.

NOTE:  Lubricate the O-rings with petroleum jelly (Vaseline) to facilitate reassembly.

IMPORTANT:

Check that the right connectors are fitted to the right injectors (the cables are marked).
