Fuel Pressure Regulator: Testing and Inspection
1. Connect the pressure gauge, special tool 83 93 852, to the delivery side of the fuel rail.
2. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the pressure regulator and connect the pressure/vacuum pump, special tool (45) 30 14 883.
3. Start the fuel pump by connecting a jumper lead between fuses 14 and 18, using special tool 83 93 886.
4. Check the reading at barometric pressure. It should be 3 bar.
5. Use the pressure/vacuum pump to increase the negative pressure in the pressure regulator. System pressure should now drop by as much as the
reading on the pressure gauge (in bar).
