Air Bag(s) Arming and Disarming: Service and Repair
1. Disconnect and shield battery ground cable.
2. Unscrew the steering wheel center pad (air bag) and unplug the connector. Plug reference resistor 84 71 153 into the connector. If you do not plug
in a reference resistor, you will have to wait 20 minutes after disconnecting the battery before you can start work.
NOTE: On cars equipped with an airbag on the passenger's side, you must also remove the lower cover and unplug the electric lead from the
passenger side airbag. Plug reference resistor 87 71 153 via wiring harness 86 11 378 into the wiring connector.
3. Disconnect airbag ECU electrical connector.
4. Reverse to arm system
