Inspect the control module by looking for small green, white or, if not dried, transparent spots.
Look carefully at the screws that secure the plastic cover of the module to its metal base. Moisture can get trapped and dried in the recess for the
screws.
No signs of leakage: Go to step 6.
Leakage: Change the control module. Then, go to step 6.
Important:
If active moisture is evident on the control module, and the customer has complained of a coolant smell in the car, replace the heater core P/N 50 46
362. Bear in mind that dried coolant on the control module is not evidence of an active leak. Replaced heater cores should be returned to Saab Cars
USA, Inc. where they will be inspected and tested.
Inspect electrical connection for corrosion. Correct as necessary.

Fit and connect the control module.
Tightening torque 9 Nm (6.6 lbf ft).

Remove the plastic backing on the double-sided adhesive tape inside the cover, see illustration.
