9000 Hatchback L4-2290cc 2.3L DOHC Turbo EFI (1994)
Assembly
1. Press the outer race into the torque converter housing using press piece tool No. 87 90 461 and drift tool No. 83 90 189, or equivalent.

The bearing race in the gear case is installed when preloading the differential bearings.
2. Install the tapered roller bearing a press as far as it will go using installing sleeve tool No. 87 90 487 and support tool No. 89 95 177, or
equivalents.
3. SPEEDOMETER DRIVE WITH DOWEL.

Drive the dowel into the speedometer drive as far as it will go.
Install the speedometer drive to the differential so that the dowel engages in the recess.
4. A SPEEDOMETER DRIVE WITHOUT DOWEL.

The speedometer drive is pressed onto the differential.
5. Press on the tapered roller bearing at the speedometer drive in a press with sleeve tool and support tool.
