Throttle Valve Cable/Linkage: Adjustments
Without Traction Control System (TCS)

Adjusting

Adjustment applies to cars with four cylinder engines without Traction Control System.

Detach the bellows from the throttle body and move to one side.

Depress the throttle arm to kick-down position and insert tool 87 91 980 into the throttle body. The "UP" mark should be aligned against the cast
partition in the throttle body.

Undo the stop nut on the kick-down cable and pull the casing until wide open throttle position can be felt. Wide open throttle position is felt just
before the kick-down position.

Note:  Some cars have two stop nuts.

Tighten the stop nut while holding the casing in wide open throttle position.

Depress the throttle arm and remove the tool from the throttle body. Carefully move back the throttle arm.

Refit the bellows to the throttle body.
