Action 1

1.

Remove the transmission. Refer to Service Manual 4:1, "Manual gearbox."

2.

Remove the end cover and main case as described in Service Manual 4:1.

3.

Remove the reverse gear lever (see item 1, Figure 2).

4.

Measure the reverse gear lever (Figure 3). If the dimensions are not as indicated, install a new lever, P/N 87 35 102.

CAUTION

Molybdenum particles can damage the gearbox. Check to see if molybdenum flakes from the synchromesh baulk ring have fastened on the
synchromesh cone or if molybdenum particles have flaked off the synchromesh baulk ring (see item 1, Figure 4).
