Introduction:

Due to a possible casting problem, the oil filter adapter must be inspected and/or replaced on 900 models within the VIN Serial Number ranges listed
below. Owners of affected vehicles will be notified to have their vehicle modified at their earliest Convenience.

All vehicles in dealer inventory must be inspected or inspected and modified prior to retail sale.

1996 900s equipped with 2.3 liter naturally aspirated engines within the VIN Serial Number ranges:

T7009384-T7011452

An initial parts order of adapters and 0-rings equal to 75% of the vehicles wholesaled to your dealership as of July 12, 1996, will be shipped
automatically on or about July 19, 1996. If our records indicate that you have not received any affected vehicles, no automatic parts shipment will take
place. Order additional parts as needed using VOR ordering procedures.

First inspect the campaign plate on the vehicle. If it is stamped in position B5 with a numeral from "1" to "8", no further action is required. (Some
vehicles were repaired at the Ports-of-Entry.)
