Intake Manifold: Service and Repair

1. On turbo models, remove cowl.
2. On non-turbo models, remove resonator.
3. Remove crankcase breather hose and idle adjusting valve.
4. Disconnect pressure and return fuel lines from fuel injection manifold using fuel line separator tool 83 94 702, or equivalent.
5. Remove four fuel injection manifold retaining bolts (two at each end), then the two protective covers.
6. Disconnect injector electrical leads, then carefully remove fuel injection manifold.
7. Remove injector to injection manifold locking clips, then the injector.
8. On turbo models equipped with intake air heat plates, remove heat plates assembly as outlined under "Intake Air Heat Plates, Replace.
9. Reverse procedure to install. Lubricate all O-rings with petroleum jelly before installing.
