Figure 2. Fitting New Springs

a.

Place the spring bend in the groove on the seat chassis. See Figure 2-a.

b.

Pull the U-bend on the spring into the groove on the seat chassis. See Figure 2-b. Lightly tap the spring at the U-bend to ensure that it is properly
attached.

c.

Hook the ends of the springs into the notches in the lateral adjusting handle. See Figure 2-c.

5.

Refit the seat in the car and check its function. See Service Manual Section 0 News, M1995.

determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 1994 model year Saab 900 3-door Coupe models with manually adjustable
front seat. Our records indicate you are the current owner or driver or such a Saab.

The included attachment contains a complete explanation of this safety problem and the specific modification which will be performed on your Saab. It
also explains the precautions you should take until you can bring your Saab in to your dealer.

We urge you to make an appointment with your Saab dealer as soon as possible after October 25, 1994. That is the date by which we expect dealers will
have parts and complete recall information. Of course, there will no charge for this service.

Saab appreciates your cooperation and understanding regarding this situation and we will do our best along with your dealer, to minimize any
inconvenience. While we deeply regret this problem, please be assured that the identification of this problem arises out of Saab's complete commitment
to stringent internal testing and performance standards and an overriding concern for the safety of Saab drivers and passengers.
