1.

Raise the car and remove the wheel.

2.

Press back the brake piston and brake pads, using a pair of slip joint pliers.

3.

Remove the two caliper retaining screws and discard them. Hang the caliper on the MacPherson strut by means of a cable tie.

4.

Remove the brake disc locking screws and remove the brake disc.

5.

Undo the retaining screws, remove the old brake shields and discard it and the original screws.

Fitting New Parts:

1.

Screw the new brake shield to the two lower holes in the steering swivel member and make a punch mark on the swivel member through the upper
hole (Figure 1-A) in the brake disc backing plate.

2.

Drill a 15 mm deep hole (dia. 5.2 mm) where the punch mark is located.

3.

Cut a thread in the hole using a 6 x 1.0 mm tap.

4.

Screw the third M6 screw in the new hole. Tightening torque: 8 Nm (6 ft.lbs.).

5.

Before starting to reinstall the brake disc, thoroughly clean it and make sure that its surface which butts against the hub is free from rust, burns, etc.
 Also, check that the surface of the hub which butts against the brake disc is free from rust and dirt.

6.

Fit the brake disc on the hub. Insert the new brake disc locking screw and tighten it. Tightening torque: 4 Nm (3 ft.lbs.).

7.

Position the small angle bracket as shown in Figure 1-B. Fit the caliper by means of the new screws and tighten them, using a torque wrench.
Tightening torque: 110 Nm (81 ft.lbs.).

8.

Refit the wheel.  Also fit a replacement brake shield on the other wheel as described above.  Depress the brake pedal to press out the brake pads
against discs before driving the car.

9.

Test drive the car and check the operation of the brakes.
