Close the tailgate. Place a piece of paper between the stop and tailgate.

c.

Unscrew the rubber stops until they just hold the paper.

d.

Remove the paper and then unscrew the stops another 1/4 turn.

NOTE:

The tailgate should rest evenly on all four stops.

13. Fit the corner panels.

Changing the Engine Mounts:

Parts:

Engine mount, front right

Engine mount, front left

Engine mount, rear

Procedure:

Change the front engine mounts as described in Service Manual 2:1 Basic Engine B206/B234/B204, page 201-12. Change the rear engine mount as
follows.

Use these instructions as a general guide but observe the following points:

1. Use the engine lifting beam to support and raise the engine.

2. Do not remove the engine subframe or the exhaust system. It will not normally be necessary.

3. To remove the rear mount fasteners, top and bottom, take the weight off of the rear mounting using the engine lifting beam. Remove the 3 bolts that

secure the rear mounting bracket to the gearbox. Remove the rear mount and bracket from the car as an assembly.

4. Install the new mount and the bracket as an assembly. Install and tighten the gearbox bracket bolts first.

5. Remove the left front mount from the car.
