Touch-up paint (same as car)
Procedure:
1. Adjust the tailgate so that it rests on the regular stops.
2. Bend the brackets as shown in Figure 2, item 2. Bend them at a right angle along broken line A so that they can stand on a flat surface as shown in
item B in Figure 2. Paint the brackets the same color as the car.
3. Remove the corner panels under the rear light clusters on both sides.
4. Hold the bracket in position on the sheet metal joint so that it butts up against the edge of the sheet metal at point C in Figure 2 and the lower corner
of the scuff plate at point D as indicated in Figure 2. Mark the positions of the holes.
5. Drill the holes as marked, using a 9/64" (3.5mm) drill bit.
6. Remove any burrs and clean the holes with Teroson cleaner, P/N 30 15 815 or equivalent.
7. Apply primer.
8. Apply finish paint.
9. Apply paint sealant to internal surfaces.
10. Fix the bracket in place with pop rivets.
11. Clean the area on the tailgate which will rest against the rubber stops and affix paint protector tape in place.
12. Adjust the stops as follows:

Screw in the stops as far as they will go.
