By proceeding as described below it is possible to simulate faults so that the ICE will send corresponding messages to the Saab Information
Display (SID) unit. Readouts of these messages can be obtained with the ISAT Scan Tool.

A Remove a rear parking light bulb and switch on the parking lights.
B Remove a brake light bulb and depress the brake pedal.
C Switch on the ignition. On depressing the brake pedal the signal should go away.

Connect the Intellegent Saab Tester (ISAT) Scan Tool and select the "ACTIVATE" menu and then "SOUND TEST".

The Saab Information Display (SID) unit should then make the following sounds at about 4-second intervals.
SOUND - ALERT
SOUND - ALARM
SOUND - REMIND
SOUND - SPEED
SOUND - ACK

If these sounds are not made, continue fault diagnosis in "Before Control Module Replacement".
