Compressor HVAC: Service and Repair

To remove

1

Place the car on a lift.

Drain the A/C system of refrigerant.

Remove the intake manifold for the turbo, if fitted.

Remove the multigroove drive belt from the compressor.

Unplug the compressor's connector.

Remove the high-pressure hose from the compressor. Plug the openings.

Remove the low-pressure hose from the compressor. Plug the openings.

Cars with a 4-cylinder fuel injection engine.
Remove the compressor retaining bolts and lift up the compressor.

9

Cars with turbo and a V6 engine:
a. Remove the compressor's two upper retaining bolts.
b. Raise the car and remove the air shield in front of the wheel housing.
c. Remove the compressor's lower retaining bolt and lower the compressor under the oil cooler hoses.
