INSTALLATION
1. Install the outer circlip on the steering swivel member. The opening in the circlip should face downwards.
2. Press the wheel bearing in until it abuts against the circlip (4). Use special tool 89 96 704. Lubricate the bearing seat and the periphery of the
bearing with grease such as Molykote G Rapid Plus.
3. Install the inner circlip on the steering swivel member. The opening in the circlip should face downwards.
4. Install the hub in the wheel bearing (5). Use special tool 89 96 704.
5. Install the MacPherson strut.
6. Inspect the rubber gaiter and bushes, making sure that they are intact and undamaged.
7. Screw the MacPherson strut insert in place, using special tool 89 96 670 and torque to 215 Nm (158.7 ft. lbs.).
8. Install the spring. The lower end of the spring should rest against the stop in the bottom spring cup.
9. Install the spring shim (with the protruding mark as shown in the illustration above) and the mounting. Make sure that the lower washer is fitted the
