Knock Sensor: Service and Repair

To Remove

1. Unplug the connector from the sensor that is to be removed.
2. Note how the wiring is run and where the cable ties, if any, are fitted.

To facilitate fitting a new wiring harness, tie a piece of string round the connector. Then pull out the wiring. Transfer the string to the new wiring
harness and pull it into the correct position by means of the string.

To Install 

Before refitting, thoroughly clean the surface of the sensor that is in contact with the engine block.

Install in reverse order.

Tightening torque 22 Nm (16 ft lbs)
