Symbols - Crimped Connections

Crimped connections
To reduce the number of connectors used in the car, the various wiring harnesses contain several crimped connections. They are used as fixed
connections and also as connectors. The number of poles in the connector may vary, depending on the market and car version. The maximum
version is always shown on the wiring diagram. There is no pin numbering on the connectors.

How they are drawn on the wiring diagram is shown in the above image.

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT FUSES

The car's +12 V power supply is fed to the various consumer units via three main fuse boxes, one in the dashboard, one in the engine bay on the
bulkhead partition and a Maxi fuse holder in the engine bay behind the battery. Most of the fuses and relays are located in the main fuse box.

The fuses are of blade type and, together with their connecting sockets, give rise to a lower voltage drop than earlier types. They are also more
resistant to corrosion.
