Front seat backrest difficult to tip forward

Cars affected

Saab 900 3D M94-M98.
Saab 900 CV M95-M98.

Background

The cables in the folding mechanism on cars with folding backrests may become slightly stretched over time. This condition applies especially to the
longer cable. This can result in the backrest latches used when tipping the backrest to not open sufficiently, making it difficult to tip the backrest.

By fitting a cable spacer between the two cables, tension will be applied more evenly.

Follow the directions on the following pages to rectify a customer complaint.
