Evaporator Core: Service and Repair
Installation

1. Position the evaporator in the climate control unit. Lubricate the upper part of the evaporator with vaseline, if necessary.
2. Install new 0-rings on the pipe connections from the evaporator. Lubricate the 0-rings with synthetic vaseline.
3. Refit the expansion valve or the block.
4. Tighten the screws securing the expansion valve or block. Tightening torque, expansion valve: 5 Nm (3.7 ft lb). Tightening torque, block: 20 Nm

(14.8 ft lb).

5. Connect the anti-freeze thermostat's sensor to the low-pressure pipe, using the clip.

6. Refit the end cover on the climate control unit and tighten the screws. Run the ventilation fan at maximum speed and check that condensate does

not leak out from the evaporator. If necessary', install a new gasket between the end cover and climate control unit.
