Topping Up with Power Steering Fluid

Application: 
1994-900

It is possible in some instances for a small amount of the power steering fluid to leak out of the reservoir. This may occur at high temperatures and at
maximum steering lock. To avoid this, follow the instructions below when topping up with power steering fluid.

Also note that there has been a change to the specification of power steering fluid for 1994-900 models. Due to the lack of availability of the originally
specified Texaco 1890 fluid, the Factory has now changed their recommendation to GM Power Steering Fluid.

1994 and later 900 models

GM Power Steering Fluid

Action:

1.

Make sure that the temperature of the fluid in the power steering system is about 68°F (+20°C).

2.

Adjust the front wheels so that they are in the straight-ahead position.

3.

Check the level of the fluid. It should be between the MAX and MIN marks on the dipstick fitted to the cap of the fluid reservoir. See Figure 1,
item A.
