Inside Front Door Window Seal - Comes Loose

Correcting Complaint that Internal Front Door Window Seal is Coming Loose

Background

The internal window seal on some cars can lift up a few mm at the rear edge. Follow the directions to rectify this complaint.

Parts

Screw (2): 7975535 (CA: 30509241)

Action

1.

Push down the door strip to the correction position. Remove the door panel.

2.

Lower the window.

3.

Protect the window from drilling damage by putting a putty knife (or something similar) between the internal window seal and the window.

4.

Drill a 2 mm hole approximately 10 mm (on 3-door) or approximately 55 mm (for convertible) from the rear of the internal window seal. See
Figure.

Drill through the seal and flange. See Figure.

5.

Fit the screw, P/N 79 75 535, in the hole (See Figure).

6.

Refit the door panel.
