Intake Manifold: Service and Repair

1. Remove engine protective covers, then the hose clip securing rubber duct.
2. Disconnect IAC valve hose and rear knock sensor electrical connector from duct.
3. Remove rubber duct, then the intake manifold retaining bar and cable conduits.
4. Disconnect throttle and cruise control cables from throttle lever and bracket.
5. Disconnect brake servo and crankcase breather vacuum hoses.
6. Remove seven nuts securing upper half of intake manifold, then lift upper half of inlet manifold and support with rubber mallet.
7. Disconnect connectors from injectors, then remove fuel lines and vacuum hose from pressure regulator.
8. Remove seven fuel injection manifold retaining bolts, then use screwdriver to jiggle out manifold.
9. Remove injectors from fuel injection manifold, then the pressure regulator.

10. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:

a. Inspect O-rings at both ends of injectors and smear with petroleum jelly to ease installation.
b. Tighten all manifold flange bolts and inlet manifold retaining bar to specifications.
c. Ensure pressure regulator vacuum hose is connected to front nipple on throttle body in front of butterfly.
