Front Crankshaft Seal: Service and Repair
Installation

Step numbers below refer to numbers used in the illustrations.

In vehicle.
1. Install the inner part of seal installer tool No. 83 94 942, or equivalent, on the crankshaft.

Lubricate the seal and install it on the shaft.

Tap the seal in place, using the outer part of seal installer tool.
2. Install the spacer ring and crankshaft pulley, then tighten to: 250 Nm plus an additional 45° (184.5 ft. lbs. plus an additional 45).
