When the radio-cassette player is turned on, it sends a 12 V supply on pin 5 of connector A to the aerial's built-in relay, which then operates. The
aerial motor raises the aerial.
When the radio-cassette is turned off, 12 V is no longer supplied to pin 5. The aerial's relay contacts then change and current is supplied to the
aerial motor which retracts the aerial.
FAULT DIAGNOSIS HINTS
Via a diagnostics position in the radio-cassette player it is possible to see whether there are any diagnostic trouble codes. Since these are not
stored, every function (radio, cassette and CD player) has to be checked separately.
1. Check that fuses 4, 13 and 9 are intact and supplied with current.
2. Check that the fuse at the rear of the radio-cassette player is intact.
3. Check the connectors, wiring harness and ground connections.
