Rear Door Hinge: Service and Repair

Rear Side Door Upper Hinge and Lower Hinge Replacement

Removal Procedure

Warning:  Refer to Approved Equipment for Collision Repair Warning   (See: Service Precautions/Technician Safety Information/Approved

1. Disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system.

Warning:  Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning   (See: Starting and Charging/Battery/Service Precautions).

2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Remove all related panels and components.
4. Restore as much of the damage as possible to factory specifications. Refer to Dimensions - Body   ().
5. Note the location and remove the sealers and anti-corrosion materials from the repair area as necessary. Refer to Anti-Corrosion Treatment and

Repair   ().

6. Remove the door assembly from the vehicle.
7. Mark the position of the hinge.

Note:  Do not damage any inner panels or reinforcements.

8. Locate all factory welds.
