1. Install the hood closure stud (4).

Install the washer (3) and coil spring (2).

*

Install the disc nut (1).

*

Note the basic setting.

X = 43 /-3 mm (1.69/-0.11 in)

Caution:  Refer to Fastener Caution   (See: Service Precautions/Vehicle Damage Warnings/Fastener Caution).

2. Install the hood closure stud. 

Note:  Remember to grease stud.

Install the stud assembly.

*

Lock the disc nut with the stud.

Tighten the disc nut to 22 Nm (16 lb ft).
