Front Crankshaft Seal: Service and Repair
Crankshaft Front Oil Seal Replacement
Tools Required
J 35268-A Camshaft/Front Main Seal Installer
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement (See: Cylinder Block Assembly/Harmonic Balancer - Crankshaft
Pulley/Service and Repair).
2. Use a flat-bladed tool to remove the seal from the front cover.
Installation Procedure
1. Use the J 35268-A in order to install the crankshaft front oil seal to the engine front cover.
2. Install the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement (See: Cylinder Block Assembly/Harmonic Balancer - Crankshaft
Pulley/Service and Repair).
