Service Procedure

1.

Lift and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in SI.

Caution:

In order to avoid being burned, do not service the exhaust system while it is still hot. Service the system when it is cool.

Caution:

Always wear protective goggles and gloves when removing exhaust parts as falling rust and sharp edges from worn exhaust components could
result in serious personal injury.

Important:

The exhaust isolators (1) are located before the resonator on the muffler assembly. The exhaust isolators (1) are pushed onto the rod hanger
bullet/mushroom head. Remove and replace both exhaust isolators (1).

2.

Support the exhaust system at the rear of the resonator with a post jack to prevent over stressing the flex coupler.

3.

Remove the two fasteners (3) at the catalytic converter (2) to flex coupler (1) location.

Important:

Apply grease to the exhaust isolator and hanger rod to ease in the removal of the exhaust isolator.
