Front Door Trim Separates Between Pull Cup and Switch Plate (Install Tie Strap)

2007 Saturn AURA
Condition
Some customers may comment that when closing the driver or passenger door, the door trim separates between the pull cup and the switch plate.
Correction
Install a tie strap following the procedure below.
Important:
This procedure address the gap between the pull cup and switch plate. It will not address a gap in the rear of the trim (shown by the arrows
above). If a gap is present in the rear, the door trim will have to be replaced.
1.
Remove the door trim. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement in SI.
2.
Measure 50 mm (in) from the up turn in the trim and drill a 8 mm (5/16 in) hole in the center of the trim.
3.
Install a tie strap as shown above. Measure across the opening in the door trim 60 mm (2-3/8 in) and tighten the tie strap to hold the measurement.
4.
Install the door trim. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement in SI.
