Service Manual Update Regarding Tightening Procedure and Specification for the Ball Joint-to-Steering Knuckle Nut

Models Affected:
2003-2004 Saturn ION

Attention: Technician

Purpose:

The purpose of this bulletin is to inform technicians of the correct tightening procedure and specification for the ball joint-to-steering knuckle nut. The
correct tightening procedure and specification is as follows:

First pass 50 N.m (37 ft-lbs)

Reverse nut 3/4 turn

Second pass 50 N.m (37 ft-lbs) plus 30 degrees

The SI website has been updated and future Service Stall System SI CD releases will include this and other Service Manual updates.
