This bulletin is being revised to include an additional condition and new part number information. Please discard bulletin 03-08-44-019 (Section 08 -
Body and Accessories).
Condition
Some customers may comment on one or more of the following conditions:
^
Ticking noise may be heard through the speakers at low volume setting.
^
Radio volume does not have a low position (low volume resolution needs improvement).
^
Clock does not keep the correct time.
^
CDs may not load or eject intermittently.
Cause
The conditions listed above may be caused by hardware and software concerns internal to the radio/six-disc in-dash CD changer assembly.
Correction
Important:
If the customer has CDs in the "old" radio/six-disc in-dash CD changer that will not eject, disconnect the radio/six-disc in-dash CD changer from the
IP harness, wait about 15 seconds, and then reconnect. This should reset the load/eject software to allow the CDs to be ejected prior to installation of
the "new" radio/six-disc in-dash CD changer unit.
Replace the radio/six-disc in-dash CD changer assembly with a new unit, P/N 22731631.
