11. Slide camshaft sprockets away from camshafts.
12. To release spring tension, rotate camshaft being serviced.
13. Uniformly loosen and remove remaining camshaft bearing cap bolts.
IMPORTANT: Camshafts are spring loaded and may rotate.
14. Carefully pull camshafts straight up to avoid damaging cylinder head thrust surface when removing camshafts.
INSTALLATION
1. Lubricate camshaft bearing journals with clean engine oil and install both camshafts and all bearing caps, except the front cap on each camshaft.
2. When installing camshaft(s) attempt to position camshaft slot up with notches on camshaft sprockets.
3. Install all bearing caps except front caps and rear intake camshaft cap (if serviced). Tighten down bearing caps uniformly.
Torque:
Camshaft Bearing Cap Bolts: 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.)
