Seals and Gaskets: Service and Repair

TRANSAXLE OIL COOLER LINE SEALS 

TOOLS REQUIRED 
-

J41239 Cooler Line Seal Remover/Installer

REMOVAL 

1. Place drain pan or suitable container under vehicle.
2. Remove transaxle oil cooler line assembly from transaxle only. Position oil cooler line away from cooler line seals on transaxle.

3. Using a TORX socket remove the oil cooler line assembly stud from the transaxle case.

IMPORTANT:  Do not collapse the seal more than 3 mm (1/8 inch). The removal tool requires two underformed opposing edges to work.

4. Use a long chisel with a 1/4" blade (or equivalent tool) to partially collapse the seal in one place only.
