INSTALLATION
NOTE:
-
Body side of door hinges must be fully MIG welded to the vehicle when the vehicle is returned to customer. No defects in welding are allowed.
Protect all areas and components not to he welded from weld spatter. Failure to fully weld hinges properly to the vehicle will result in the vehicle
not performing to design intent.

Welding for installation of the door hinges to the body structure can he performed only one. Removal and installation of hinges from the body
structure is not recommended.

Clean all weld seams with a wire brush, prime and seal all repair areas. Apply permanent underbody sealant. It is important that proper corrosion
protection processes are used on all repair areas. Prime with two-part catalyzed primer. Apply sealers and corrosion protection materials according
to the paint manufacturer's recommendations.
IMPORTANT: For welding use .035 inch wire. Welder should be able to produce a minimum of 170 amps at 220 volts. Due to metal thickness
difference between hinge and body structure most of the weld heat must be projected into the hinge.
1. Clean area before welding. Clean surfaces for welding and grind primer off new parts at connecting points. Apply 3M(R) Weld-Thru Coating P/N
05913 (or equivalent) to all areas to be welded.
2. Install door hinge to service replacement door assembly. Install door assembly to door opening, shim door as necessary to make door properly fit
the opening.
