Service Information on New Oil Cooler Cover Sealant

MODELS AFFECTED:

2000-2002 Saturn L-Series and VUE Vehicles Equipped with V6 (RPO L81) Engines

PURPOSE:

The purpose of this bulletin is to provide information concerning the release of a new oil cooler cover sealant. The new sealant is identical to the material
used in production and is specifically designed for sealing engine coolant as well as engine oil applications.

Note: 

This is the only sealant that is to be used when sealing the oil cooler cover. No other released service sealants are specifically designed to seal engine
coolant applications.

The new sealant, ThreeBond(R) 1217F*, comes packaged in a tube and requires a standard caulking gun to apply. If a standard caulking gun is not
available, obtain one locally.
