Locate transaxle shift cable adjuster assembly shown in illustrations.

Refer to illustrations and inspect transaxle shift cable retainer clip to ensure it is present and fully seated.

If transaxle shift cable retainer clip is present and fully seated, no further action is required. Continue to step 7.
4 cylinder engine equipped vehicle shown.
V6 engine equipped vehicle similar.

If transaxle shift cable retainer clip is present but not fully seated, properly install clip until it is seated and continue to step 5,

If transaxle shift cable retainer clip is not present, continue to next step.

Inspect transaxle shift cable retaining tabs and determine if they are properly seated and engaged in mounting bracket.
