Windshield Washer Solvent Container And Pump

REMOVAL

1. Open hood.
2. Pull top filler neck apart from washer bottle by rocking side to side while pulling out.

CAUTION:  TO HELP AVOID PERSONAL INJURY WHEN A VEHICLE IS ON A HOIST, PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SUPPORT FOR
VEHICLE AT THE OPPOSITE END FROM WHICH COMPONENTS ARE BEING REMOVED. THIS WILL REDUCE THE
POSSIBILITY OF VEHICLE FALLING OFF HOIST.

3. Raise vehicle.
4. Disconnect wiring harness from pump.
5. Disconnect wiring harness from solvent level sensor.
6. Move hose spring clamp rearward.

NOTE:  Use caution when removing hoses from washer system components to avoid spilling washer fluid on painted surfaces.

7. Remove fluid hose from pump, making sure to capture spilling solvent.
8. Remove washer solvent container attaching fasteners.
9. Remove washer solvent container from vehicle.

10. Empty fluid from solvent container into a container and remove pump from fluid bottle by pulling firmly on pump.

INSTALLATION

1. Install washer pump to solvent container.
2. Position solvent container into location.
3. Install washer solvent container attaching fasteners.

Torque:
Windshield Washer Solvent Container Attachment Fasteners: 4 N.m (35 in-lbs)

4. Install fluid hose to pump and position spring clamp.
5. Connect wiring harness to pump and solvent level sensor.
6. Lower vehicle.
7. Install filler neck to bottle.

NOTE:  Do not reuse washer fluid as debris may clog the system.

8. Fill solvent container with washer solvent.
9. Check that pump operates properly.
