LS2 V6-3.0L VIN R (2000)
5. Remove front timing belt cover. Refer to "Timing Belt Cover Replacement".
6. Remove timing belt. Refer to "Timing Belt Replacement".
IMPORTANT: As a precaution, rotate the crankshaft counterclockwise to 60 degrees BTDC position to prevent valve/piston contact.
7. Insert J-42069-2 Camshaft Gear Locking Tool into camshaft gears to hold them in place while loosening camshaft gear bolt.
8. Remove J-42069-2 Camshaft Gear Locking Tool.
9. Remove camshaft gear bolt and discard.
10. Remove camshaft gear.
