LW2 V6-3.0L VIN R (2000)
8. Install heater return hose to thermostat inlet on L61.
9. Install clamp at 12:00 position.
10. Install heater return hose to return inlet fitting on L81.
11. Install clamp at 3:00 position.
12. Rinse off any coolant that was spilled in engine compartment.
13. Connect negative battery cable.
Torque: 17 N.m (151 in-lbs)
IMPORTANT: Vehicle must be level when filling cooling system.
14. Slowly add a mixture of 50/50 DEX-COOL(R) antifreeze and clean water to coolant surge tank until the level reaches Cold Indicator (Surge tank
seam).
Cooling system volumes, including heater core:

L81 - 7.4 L (7.8 qt.)
^
L61 - 7.0 L (7.4 qt.)
15. Start engine and check for leaks.
16. Run engine until thermostat has opened, use Tech 2 to verify ECT is 188 F or more. Add coolant as necessary to bring level up to coolant surge
tank Cold line.
17. Install coolant surge tank coolant cap
