Air Bag(s) Arming and Disarming: Service and Repair
Disabling

CAUTION:  WHEN YOU ARE PERFORMING SERVICE ON OR NEAR THE SIR COMPONENTS OR THE SIR WIRING, YOU MUST
DISABLE THE SIR SYSTEM. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE CORRECT PROCEDURE COULD CAUSE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT,
PERSONAL INJURY OR UNNECESSARY SIR SYSTEM REPAIRS. 

DISABLING THE SIR SYSTEM

1. Turn the steering wheel so that the vehicle's wheels are pointing straight ahead.
2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position and remove key.
3. Remove IGN 1 mini-fuse from under hood fuse block.

4. Remove lower left I/P closeout panel.
5. Push out clips that secure yellow two-way connectors to I/P panel brace.
6. Disconnect both yellow two-way connectors.
