EVAP Canister Vent Solenoid

REMOVAL

CAUTION:  Do not allow smoking or the use of open flames in the area where work on the fuel system is taking place. Any time the fuel
system is being worked on, disconnect the negative battery cable, except for those tests where battery voltage is required.

The EVAP canister vent solenoid is located on the upper-end of the fuel filler pipe inside the right-rear wheel opening.

CAUTION:  Make sure vehicle is properly supported and squarely positioned. To help avoid personal injury when a vehicle is on a hoist,
provide additional support for the vehicle on the opposite end from which components are being removed.

1. Position vehicle on hoist.
2. Raise vehicle to a comfortable working position.
3. Remove passenger side rear wheelhouse panel liner.
4. Loosen bolt at fill neck inlet and remove lower retainer nut (underbody).
5. Slide spring clamp nearest solenoid down on molded hose.

6. Disconnect solenoid electrical connector.
7. Disengage locking tabs from shield of EVAP vent solenoid box.
8. Remove shield on EVAP vent solenoid box and slide down molded hose.
9. Remove vent solenoid from box and vent pipe from vehicle.

10. Disconnect vent solenoid from molded rubber hose.

INSTALLATION

NOTE:  Ensure that vent solenoid "clicks" into engagement with locking tab on box.
