8. Remove outer snap ring from stub axle shaft. Discard snap ring.
NOTICE: Confirm inner stub shaft snap ring is seated in differential side gear. If not, damage may occur to transaxle when you attempt to remove
stub shaft.
9. Pull lightly on shaft. Rotate shaft until inner stub shaft snap ring at differential seats in taper on differential side gear.
10. Remove stub shaft from transaxle. Use Stub Shaft Remover J44017 on slide hammer from Axle Seal Puller SA9133T.
11. Remove inner stub shaft snap ring and discard.
INSTALLATION
1. Install new snap rings on stub shaft.
2. Install stub shaft in transaxle using a rubber mallet.
NOTICE: In order to prevent damage to axle shaft splines during vehicle operation, add grease (P/N 7847638) to axle shaft splines prior to axle shaft
installation.
