Rear Bumper Shock Absorber: Service and Repair

Energy Absorber Replacement - Rear

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Fascia Replacement - Rear Bumper  (See: Rear Bumper Cover / Fascia/Service and Repair/Fascia

Replacement - Rear Bumper) .

2. Disconnect the rear object sensor wiring harness from the rear energy absorber, if equipped.
3. Remove the energy absorber from the fascia by releasing the tabs on the fascia.

Installation Procedure

1. Position the energy absorber to the rear bumper fascia and snap in place.
2. Position the rear fascia to the impact bar.
3. Connect the rear object sensor wiring harness to the rear energy absorber, if equipped.
