Sliding Door Electrical Contact: Service and Repair

Contact Plate Replacement - Sliding Door Jamb

Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Pad Clip Remover

Removal Procedure

Important:  By removing the power sliding door (PSD) 15A fuse, the low current logic power for both the LH and RH power sliding door
modules (PSDM) will be interrupted and both PSDs will be inoperative.

1. If equipped with a power sliding door, disable the PSD system by removing the PSD 15A fuse from the instrument panel (I/P) fuse block.
2. Open the power sliding door.
3. Partially remove the lower front corner of the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Sliding Door  (See: Doors, Hood and

Trunk/Doors/Rear Door/Rear Door Panel/Service and Repair) .

4. Disconnect the sliding door jamb contact plate electrical connector (4).
5. Using the J 38778  , remove the sliding door jamb contact plate push-in retainers.
6. Remove the sliding door jamb contact plate (3) from the pillar.
