Saturn Workshop Service and Repair Manuals

1. Install the parking pawl (3).
2. Install the pivot pin (1).
3. Install the parking pawl spring (2). The straight end of the spring locates against the case and the hooked end locates over the parking pawl.
4. Install the extension housing. Refer to Case Extension and Gasket Replacement  (See: Extension Housing/Service and Repair) .
5. Remove the transmission jack.
6. Install the transmission fluid pan. Refer to Automatic Transmission Fluid and Filter Replacement  (See: Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement) .

7. Install the propeller shaft. Refer to Propeller Shaft Replacement (Automatic)  (See: Drive/Propeller Shafts, Bearings and Joints/Drive/Propeller

8. Fill the transmission to the proper level. Refer to Transmission General Specifications  (See: Specifications/Mechanical

Specifications/Transmission General Specifications) , Fluid Capacity Specifications  (See: Fluid - A/T/Specifications/Capacity Specifications) ,
and Transmission Fluid Check  (See: Testing and Inspection/Component Tests and General Diagnostics/Transmission Fluid Check).

9. Lower the vehicle.
