6. Remove the shift control linkage (2) from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the shift control linkage (2) to the vehicle.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (See: Service Precautions/Vehicle Damage Warnings/Fastener Notice) .
2. Install the manual shift shaft nut (1).
Tighten the nut to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
3. Connect the shift control linkage rod (2) to the shift control assembly (1).
4. Adjust the shift control linkage. Refer to Shift Control Linkage Adjustment (See: Adjustments) .
5. Install the front closeout panel. Refer to Floor Panel Tunnel Panel Replacement - Front (Automatic Transmission) (See: Body and Frame/Exterior
